I am a cheerleading coach of Middle School girls and we are having our end of the season banquet in 2 weeks. There are 20 girls on the team. 4 of which have perfect attendance and I think that should be recognized especially considering that half the team was usually late or not present entirely too many times. Every girl will be getting a trophy for participating. However I wanted to do special honors such as best tumbling, best dancer. The issue I’m having is there are a bunch of girls who were lazy and don’t deserve an award at all. My question is should I give EVERYONE a special recognition? Out town has taken away MLB names for our kids sports. We used to have the Yankees, white sox, Marlins, etc. Now this year we are using our High school mascot for ALL of the baseball teams. By this I mean there are 6 little league teams in that league instead of using MLB names they are all the "Panthers" and are recognized by team 1, 2, 3, etc. Most of the kids are very upset about this, it was fun for them to be a different team then their friends. We have been told by the sports board in this city that the reasoning was that MLB now has a policy that if you use any of their names you must pay them for it. I was married for 14 years to my high school sweetheart. We had two children. I have always been the primary care giver and never missed a dr’s appt, dentist appt., school function, school meeting, sports event and was always a volunteer at my children’s school.
