Activities for a sports team sleepover?
i know this is in the wrong section…but…
I’m going to have a gymnastics team sleepover soon – it’s going to be at the gym so there’ll be trampolines and stuff to play on. Basically, there’s going to be about 17 teenage girls and we need stuff to do.
My ideas so far are:
decorate t-shirts
flashlight tag
watch a movie
gift exchange

Would my high school girls basketball team be in hot water if I invited a player to the Taylor Swift concert?
The girls basketball team at my high school did really well this year, making a run for the state title. I want to invite a player to attend the Taylor Swift concert in Fresno with me. Are there rules governing high school sports that make such gifts illegal? I just don’t want to see a player lose her eligibility for accepting a nice gift, or the team be given sanctions (like forfeiting wins or to vacate a league title) after a very successful season.

so wednesday is Senior Night for our softball team..
and im reeeaaally close to this one senior.. she’s like my big sister. and its her last game on that field.. and i want to give her something special as like a gift from me, and something that will mean something to her.

Raising a son in our sports obsessed society?
My husband and I recently found out that we are expecting a boy. We are thrilled but wondering how to handle raising him in a sports obsessed society when sports are not something that we value.
We fully realize that our son could very well develop an interest in team sports and we will support him if this is the case but we would prefer that sports remain a hobby and not an obsession.
We want to encourage him to pursue more academic endeavors than football. Neither of us pay any attention to sports so he will not be exposed to them at home.
